Hi: I have an old hand-painted 2 handled serving dish w/ a painted pic of a
French man and women from 17 or 18th century. The mark on the rear of this
plate
is " J.P" black underlined with a " L" underneath the J.P "
The rear of this plate is unglaze, also.
I did some research and my information says that it's a Jean Pouyat mark but
thats it.
Any help is appreciated. SUe

Not much to add but the L is for Limoges. It dates to about mid 19C.
