 | Does anyone know of a good reference book to help me develop my knowledge of english furniture from 1700-1850
I would be grateful for any advice, it is hard to see from Amazon lists etc which if any of the books are actually useful !

These people publish excellent books on most antique subjects, all of these listed books on the subject of English period furniture are well respected.

Charles H.Hayward, in particular has quite a number of books on the subject of English period furniture, all excellent books.
No one book is going to tell you everything. If you have deep pockets you are in luck, there are many good books to be had, new or secondhand. If not and your money is thin, then join your local main branch library and make friends with the folk in the antiques reference section.
