Does anyone know of a good reference book to help me develop my knowledge of
english furniture from 1700-1850

I would be grateful for any advice, it is hard to see from Amazon lists etc
which if any of the books are actually useful !

Please e-mail any answers since I am not expert in usenet newsgroup use!

Sorry no email.

These people publish excellent books on most antique subjects, all of
these listed books on the subject of English period furniture are well
respected.

Other older books from any of the following

Charles H.Hayward, in particular has quite a number of books on the
subject of English period furniture, all excellent books.

No one book is going to tell you everything. If you have deep pockets
you are in luck, there are many good books to be had, new or secondhand.
If not and your money is thin, then join your local main branch library
and make friends with the folk in the antiques reference section.
