Good news today
The House Militia, Police, and Public Safety today did what the
subcommittee recommended with each bill that was heard by the
subcommittee on Monday.
Good bills Passed:
HB1915, Del. Cole, clarifies 18.2-287.4 so that it is clear that
'loaded firearms' only applies to certain loaded guns with magazines
larger than 20 rounds in public areas. It also exempts concealed
handgun permit holders.
HB1978, Del. Janis, cleans up some of VA's unreasonable machine gun
restrictions and requires that a CLEO sign-off/not-sign-off on a Form
4 within 15 days.
HB1917, Del. Cole, a person carrying gun in a area where one could
hunt on Sunday is NOT presumed to be hunting unless there is proof
otherwise.
Bad bills Killed:
HB1785, Del. BaCote, library gun ban.
HB1852, Del. Eisenberg, .50 caliber gun ban.
HB2024, Del Amundson, requires ABC to notify restaurants that they
can ban guns.
