I see Remington Bullets for sale at Cabelas and other stores, but I
never see any reloading Manuals for them. Does anyone have a source for
one?

Bill

Generally you go by bullet weight, not bullet manufacturer. There are a few
exceptions, like for the 230 grain Speer Gold Dot in 45 ACP.

I use Remington bulk bullets from cabelas or midway all the time. You
basically just have to use the loading data for a similar bullet from
whatever manuals you may have. Always start at the low end of the powder
charges listed and work your way up. If you carefully match the weights and
ballistic properties of the Remington bullet and the one in your chart, you
usually get similar results. If you happen to have a bullet that is of a
slightly different weight than the listed load (165 or 168 gr) you are
usually safe using a listed starting load for the next HEAVIER bullet (eg
170 gr) and staying below the max. Never use a load for a lighter bullet!!
If you search a few manuals you can usually find an appropriate starting and
max load for just about any manufactures bullet weight and style. I you
want to get real technical there are lots of ballistic programs that will
help you figure out the ballistic properties of each bullet you are
considering and then compare then to other listed bullets. Generally with a
little care and common sense the bulk bullets from Remington or Winchester
work out well.

Hope this helps, works well for me and saves a lot of cash by buying 500
or 1000 bulk over 100 rd boxes!

I will add the caveat about being sure to slug your gun's barrel, so you
know what size the grooves are.
Some commercial bullets will be larger (or smaller) than others, and
your performance will suffer.
The best bullet size is exactly bore (groove) diameter, or as much as
..001" larger.

Then, always mike 4 or 5 bullets from any new box, to see if they
correspond to the box's label.

Try the IMR web site, They used to be a Remington (or Dupont) division and
list some Remington bullets.

Bill, Remington bulk bullets are a great value; accurate and
affordable. With Remington bullets, as well as those of other makers,
I have yet to encounter any difficulties using one manufacturer's
published data with another manufacturer's conventional "cup and core"
bullets. Good hunting! Michael
