IME & IMHO, Leopould. I've got two, never a problem. Both are more
than 10 years old. I had a Redfield, not bad, but traded it for an
orchard ladder when I bought my 2nd Leopould..

I have a Leopold Gold Ring on my 30-06. It is a nice scope, but I bought a
Bushnell Elite 4200 last year and put it on my .270 and I like the clarity
and the site picture much better than my Leopold and it cost much less.

Right off hand, I can only come up with two domestic rifle scope
manufacturers...Leupold and Burris. I like both.

I like the Burris Fullfield better than the old Leupold Vari X II. I've
owned both Leupold Vari-X III's and Burris Signatures and loved them both.

I would say Leupold, but I am biased. I have one...

They have a very good reputation, and I have heard they stand by their
lifetime warranty...
