Just curious - why "make sure you mount the scope as low as possible".
I have a model 99, is there some issue with that model and the height of
the scope mount?

Dave, I won't presume to speak for Jeff but on a
hunting rifle keeping the scope as low as possible is
always a good idea, even more so on earlier rifles
that were stocked for use with iron sights. So, have
you found the rings for your Pachmayr side mount?
