Hello,

We're sorry to tell you that Vincent Bruel died during the night
of monday 17 to tuesday 18 january 2005 in Toulouse, France.
Everybody here is shocked, also with the unpredictable way it happened...
You might have seen Vincent last year in Cirque de Demain Festival in
Paris, with his memorable act. You might have seen his DVD Bouncing In
Paris. He also had other projects. All of us liked his personality and his
juggling ideas very much. Obviously, it was not enough to keep Vincent with
us. Nobody could feel before what he had decided.
We're all very sad, we think of him a lot and we will talk more
about him in the next days.

If it's true that he took his own life, I think it's best for everybody
to be straightforward and open about it. To be open about it might be
the way to perhaps prevent someone else from going to such extreme
measures. Of course no-one can know what's going through a toubled
person's mind, but hiding from problems is not the solution.

It might not be the easiest thing to do, but I encourage all of you who
feel that you are abnormally sad or depressed to talk to someone about
it, anyone really. It doesn't really have to be a professional, most any
sensible listener can help you out in some way (be it by just listening
or supporting you to seek professional help if you need it).

No sarcasm, no jokes, no video-links, not today.

My condolences to the family and friends of Vincent.

I am sad to hear this news. Vincent was a great bouncer. He currently holds
3 World Records in bounce passing with partner Sylvain Garnavault. The
videos can be seen here:

Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his
eye from a comet when that
breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion
rings? but who can remove it
from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world? No
man is an island, entire of
itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a
promontory were, as well as if a
manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in
mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it
tolls for thee.

-John Donne, 1623
