As the weather gets (slightly)better, i've been juggling my clubs outside
a lot recently. Thing is, two of the knobs on my circus specials have come
off as the screw inside's snapped. Is there any advice anyone has to offer
on repairing this? or will i just have to buy new ones? thanks in advance
:-)

You can change the wooden part of the club. It is a beech tree stick,
diameter 16mm if I well remember.
You will need a good stapler.

I should make a doc next time I change one ;)

I know various people who have solved this problem, in a variety of ways.
These are some of the more common:

1 - With a bit of careful needle-nose-plier action, you can extract the
remains of the screw and replace if with a new screw. You may need to
pack the hole slightly with a cut down match stick to get a good tight fit.

2 - If you're careful, you can run a new screw down the side of the old
screw, but this can split the dowel.

3 - Just glue the knobs back on with a strong flexible glue and ignore
the fact that they were ever screwed on. From your email address I guess
you're in the UK, in which case "Evostick" may be what you're looking
for. Or possibly Uhu. Be sure to read the instructions first though!

4 - Prevention is better than cure. Almost everyone I know who has had
this problem has noticed the screw bending a while before it breaks.

If you notice that happening, take 5 minutes to remove the screw and
fit a new one. Obviously it's a bit late for those two clubs now,
but it's worth remembering for the future.

Hope that helps.

Also on club repair: the silver-coloured handles on my Pirhouettes are
deteriorating slightly. In one place the silver has come off showing a
bit of yellow stuff underneath, and it feels a bit rough on my
hands...anyone know of a way to repair this?

Two options:

1 - Go to the EJC, find the henrys stall, and get them to repair them for
you. IIRC henrys have a lifetime garuntee - if you can get the club to them
at an EJC at least.

2 - Contact henrys (www.henrys-online.de) and order some replacement handles
and fit them yourself. Top tips here involve, be careful when dismantling
the club, and write down how it came apart. This will greatly help when you
come to reassemble a club for the first time.

"NEXT!"

Or you could go down the renegade route and cover the whole handle in
insulation tape - but imho that would suck.

Another tip is to work with only one club at a time. That way you always
have something to compare with.

I have the same clubs (I think) and one of my knobs snapped off, screw
and all. I discarded the screw and put a piece of balloon between the
end of the stick and the knob and pushed the two together with a little
twist. The friction alone has kept it together for months without
further maintenance. (For some reason this idea came to me instantly
and I only lost about 30 seconds of juggling time that day and forgot
about it till you mentioned it)
