 | Hello Everyone,
Firstly may I apologise for directing my question to such an venerable news group without actually contributing more to the group in the past. I hope, and expect, after listening to my question(s) that you will reply in the same manner as I know this group traditionally does.
The background; my very best friend is an avid knife collector (and a regular contributor to this NG) but I can't really mention his name here.
It is his 40th birthday in a couple of weeks...I know exactly what he wants...at least what he wants not from his wife,,,that is a Halo II but the cost has always been too much and diffficult to get in the UK. He is my best friend and I have some spare cash now, which I think (actually I know) he deserves. So I really want to know where to buy one, actually two or three. I desire one too and, believe it or not, my other best friend, another regular to this group!! (I was his best man in October 2004 for his wedding) would also love one. I am fully prepared to travel to the US to collect the threeknives for cash, but I must return before mid Feb,
So, to cut to the chase. Call me a crazy fool. I would love to fly to the states and purchase three Halo II knives.
Please let me know any ideas where to get them new or indeed second hand examples. One Internet shop suggested Ultratech II as a replacement....are they even comparable?
I put my faith in the replies I receive in this news group, as I know my pals have done over the years...and I pray they don't read this ;)

I really wouldn't fancy your chances of getting them past customs. They are not exactly cheap and you'd probably end up throwing that money away and risk getting yourself a criminal record. If you really wanted one, I'd say order it online and have it shipped to the UK. If customs confiscated it, all you would end up with is a letter stating that, like what happened with my brass knuckles.

I'd get it delivered to someone in the states who could disassemble it for you. Then ship the pieces in several different shipments over a couple of weeks via different courier companies. Reassemble in the UK and voila. I am sure there is some guys here who would do it for a small fee.
