Can anyone help me out? I live in Canada but want to buy a bike thats
registered in the US. I need to do a check on the VIN to make sure its not
stolen or rebuilt. How can I do this online or who can I call? Anyone know?
The bike is registered in Leesburg, VA. I tried a few of the online sites
like carfax but they don't seem to work for bike VIN's as they don't find
any owners. I've had a few people tell me this is the case with them. If you
can help...I thank you in advance.

Some police stations and RMVs in some states (and perhaps provinces)
have been known to run requests to check to see if a vehicle is listed
as stolen.

Easy enough to do...will cost just whatever a long distance phone from
Canada to VA. Give the VA State Police a call & they should be able
to direct you to wherever you need to be to get your information.
