Matthew Glaser age 8, an actor who has appeared on MTV and several national and regional television and radio commercials, from Smithtown - Nesconset, New York, has set up an email address ( petsandvets123@AOL.com ) to accept mail supporting his position that the National, State and Local Fire Codes be amended to mandate Central Station Fire Alarm Systems be installed in pet shops, Veterinary Hospitals and any establishment raising, selling or boarding animals to protect the lives of the animals.
So far Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy's office has been contacted and other State Legislators will be presented with the E-mail petitions to muster support for the proposed code addition. Matthew who is a pet owner himself, conceptualized this proposed code modification as a result of a class at his school on Community Involvement.
