You can find something in the bible to justify just about any action one wishes
to take! I've always looked at the bible in two parts like it is presented -
the old and the new testament!! The old testament is a a history book from the
viewpoint of Judaism! It does include survival knowledge and a lot of moral
guidance! The new testament is the teachings of Jesus Christ! He gave a
different set of survival rules, working off of the basics taught in the old
testament. People who call themselves christians should quote from the new
testament and not the old testament when justifying their actions. I find the
so-called "christians" of today use the bible improperly and do not really
follow the teachings of Christ! Only when it suits their actions do they
follow Christ but most of the time they follow the rules of the old testament!
War-mongers say "the bible says "an eye for an eye" BUT Christ said "turn
the other cheek" and that is also in the bible in the New Testament.
Christians today who support Bush are just stupid righteous people who really
do not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ!! Bush is no real christian. He
is a convenience christian -- when it suits him he will follow a christian
principle but not otherwise!
