Just kiss my ass.
Youi have less than no idea.
You punks take the cheap shots from the cheaps seats at every opportunity, time after time, after time, and then you have the fucking pussiness to stand back and act like *you* have been insulted when We get fed up and tell you to fuck off.
Must be really nice being you;
Your nation doesnt have to defend itself, keep a credible military, or bury its dead by the hundreds and thousands, year after year, decade after decade.
All you have to do is play Monday morning quarterback.
Enjoy your freedom; It comes to you from the very same people you endanger.

I could have said that he does the asshole act naturally, but that would not be true, I have seen Scott's generous side, but not lately. He seems to be angry at everything and everybody now. Its hard work being angry all the time.

America bashing? We love America. It's not America that's at fault, it's Bush and those who voted him in. At most, we're bashing half of America, the 50% that approves of Bush as he's heading into his second term. Even Nixon had 51% approval.

Definitely, especially due to a handful of ranters. Usenet filters are great for eliminating a lot of the crud.
There are occasionally some interesting OT threads, but they usually degenerate into libs vs neocons, name-calling, and it just becomes impossible for any rational discussion.

Cool! I love the blues. Depending on the mood, I can vary to rock, folk and jazz, but I always come back to the blues.
Do you get many blues acts in AB?

Many. We used to have a blues club/bar "The Kind Eddy" at a scuzzy old hotel called the King Edward. Here's a picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/1621400/in/set-27243/
The King Eddy was a famous blues club for years. Aside from the acts, every Saturday there was a blues jam. Steve Pineo started out there. I saw him myself any number of Saturdays when he was just a little guy, wet behind the ears and maybe even using fake ID. Amos Garrett and Marina Muldar were regulars. Geez, I can't even remember all the incredible artists and bands that have played there over the years. I sure miss that place.
There are still a number of different venues that serve up blues now and then but Kaos is fairly consistent in that regard: http://www.kaosblues.com/Performers.htm
A bit out of the way for me but: http://www.bluesatthebow.com/ua01.htm
In Edmonton, also a bit out of the way for me: Blues on Whyte (no website)
In the summer, we have a Blues and Roots Festival. http://www.istc.org/sisp/?fx=event&event_id=106071
Stevie Ray Vaughn, we miss you man.
Johnny Lang . . . What an amazing talent. First time I heard him play, I don't think he was even 16 yet.
And one of my favorite albums "Ridin' with the King".
OK, that's enough of that. :^)

The site was down. I'll check later.
We hope to get to AB and BC sometime soon for summer holidays. My wife hasn't been through the Rockies, only to Vancouver on business. I really want to show her the Icefields Parkway, the Badlands, etc.

Lester Quitzau, Trevor Finlay, David Gogo, Magic Slim, Jack DeKeyzer, Ellen McIllwaine -- great acts.

We have one, too. It's the 2nd largest bluesfest in N. America:
http://www.ottawa-bluesfest.ca/index-en.html
They used to hold it on LeBreton Flats, and then moved it downtown. Unfortunately for me, they're getting further away from the blues, but I've seen Johnny Lang, Colin James, Little Richard, Maria Mauldaur, Gatemouth Brown, Keb 'Mo and many others. We saw Sting one year, and although I'm not as fussed on him as my wife, he was great and his band was top-notch.
>Stevie Ray Vaughn, we miss you man.
Amen. Did you ever see his show on Austin City Limits? He was amazing. I have to get a copy of that some day.
>Johnny Lang . . . What an amazing talent. First time I heard him play, I >don't think he was even 16 yet.
I heard recently of David Jacob-Strains, another up-and-coming kid. I haven't found any of his stuff yet.
>And one of my favorite albums "Ridin' with the King".
Yeah, it was almost like they were both trying to outdo each other, to our eternal benefit.
>OK, that's enough of that. :^)
Why? It's OT, but shouldn't offend too many!
Ottawa has a blues & jazz events website: http://ottawa-blues-jazz.ncf.ca/
We even have a blues cruise on the Ottawa River. I've never had the chance yet to make it, but maybe in 2005: http://www.cajun.ca/misc/bluescruise/
We have a few places that specialise in the blues: Tucson's: http://www.soundzgood.com/tucsons/index.htm (food is crappy, but they get great acts)
The Bayou: http://www.thebayou.ca/ Haven't tried it, yet.
The Rainbow: http://www.therainbow.ca/ This is probably the best place to find some great blues bands. It's a local blues institution. Tony D is a local talent who's released a few CDs. Great music, great spot.
Funny how Canada is a great home of the blues. Must have something to do with the cold weather.

I believe the post came from Quest. I don't know who originally posted it, but it was a response to a comment by me that DIR does not embrace sidemount configurations. It was presented as proof after a statement that both George and JJ had covered the DIR sidemount configuration. One look and I was off and running. There's nothing DIR about what the post suggests. In fact, it's such a cobbled together mess that I question whether George really was responsible for it. Whether we get along or not, he's better than what this post suggests.
I am a bit surprised the message didn't get discussion here. Maybe now it will.

That there's hypocrisy within DIR is a surprise that needs discussion?
FWIW, you're right that that was one cobbled together mess. Wasn't it preached that only strokes would ever be so disorganized? ;-)

It is also -- wintertime and less people are out diving. Come spring and summer -- more people are out diving and thusly talking about their dives -- gear -- etc.

That may be so. Part of the problem is people posting way off topic about Iraq, politics, guns, etc which really dilutes the content and should not appear here. Then there was Jammer posting his virus--what kind of contribution is that?

Actually no - there is - was - and will always be tons of talk about everything else. That is what makes rec.scuba the bar that it is...
If you don't like the chatter - go to www.scubaboard.com or www.thedecostop.com you will find plenty of diving related talk there without the , guns and politics. But beware - you have to watch what you do say...
Kimber -- "There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hur-ra-cane-a blowing? Not a speck of light is showing. So the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing?! YES! THE DANGER MUST BE GROWING! FOR THE ROWERS KEEP ON ROWING! AND THEY'RE CERTAINLY NOT SHOWING! ANY SIGNS THAT THEY ARE SLOWING!!!"

If it wasn't there, there would be *NO* content, so how is it diluting something that doesn't exist?

A rather Darwinistic contribution, I suspect... I was running Firefox and it didn't even make it to my virus scanner...

Not everybody is as lucky as you to be able to be diving so much. But give me a bit more time.... (-;

She complains that Clinton's inauguration cost $25 million yet never mentions that Bush's cost $40 million. Typical two-faced.
Jealous of George Soros' wealth, she wants him to give his billions to tsunami victims, forgetting that he's already given billions (nearly 3, according to the Carnegie Corporation).

"Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like Liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now."

You dropped the context. Further, Clinton's second inaugural cost....42 million ;-) She's merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the folks who whine about how Bush's inaugural costs 40 million, whcih could go to relieve the suffering in the world and not whining about the monies spent by the other folks.

And how much money does Soros REALLY need? :-)
