Anyone have a suggestion about the following problem. I have a Comcast
DVR double-tuner box connected to a Sony XBR-960 CRT TV. I am trying
also to connect a second output through a Panasonic DMR-E30 DVD
recorder. The S-Video connection gives the picture, but I am not
able to get sound. There seems to be only one set of outputs on the
Comcast box, so I've tried to go through the audio-out and also the
monitor-out on the back of the TV, but am still getting no sound. Is
there a mute function I've somehow activated? Is there another
explanation.

Thanks. I'd appreciate any recommendations.

svideo only gives you video ... sound has to come from somewhere else.

Amazingly, there seems to be only one set of audio outputs on the
Comcast box. Sound is going from the DVD recorder to the TV -- discs
play fine. Should I split the audio outputs from the Comcast box? The
audio outputs on the TV don't seem to do the job.

Thanks. Gus

Based on your description, one solution is to split the L/R analog
audio outs from the box with one leg going to the recorder and the
other to the TV. Gary E

Yep, and that something else could be 2 RCA jacks in the back of DVD next to
s-video jack.
