 | This TV has a intermittent buzz in the sound when certain video is present (like white scrolling credits on a dark background at the end of a show/movie). The fancy term is intercarrier buzz.
I know how to eliminate it (by tweaking one of the transformers in the set), but the problem doesn't last long enough using broadcast (or cable) signals to make the adjustment.
(Yes, misadjusted AGC can also cause the problem, but even without the buzz, this set's sound is never as clear as it should be.)
I know of stand-alone TV pattern generators. I'm not sure that those that happen to include audio would trigger the problem. Plus, they are rather expensive. I'm wondering if there is a DVD or VCR tape containing test signals that could trigger the problem.
Thanks,
Ray

The Avia Guide to Home Theater has test signals and patterns. Might want to check that out.
