Most aircraft are heated using bleed air from the engines. The air comes from
the compressor stages prior to the combustor so is basically "uncontaminated"
atmospheric air. It then passes through air conditioning packs which adjust
its temperature and pressure to condition the cabin and maintain its pressure.
