There are reports of waxwings near Ayr and near Morpeth on Bird Guide. Does anyone know if any have been seen near Edinburgh ?

Hi David I live at East Craigs (EH12) andwe have had Waxwings (40 t0 50) in the trees around us for the past two weeks. This afternoon we saw them again in the large trees above the BT Telephone Exchange at the bus stop. We also have a show of Redwings around 25 birds.

We also saw a flock of 50-60 Waxwings in Craigs Drive EH12 in late November last year. Possibly the same ones?

The Waxwings seem to have gone now, possibly due to the unrelenting bad weather here. The Redwings also seem to have moved on :-(
Oh well there is always summer I suppose !
