Lunch today, my third meal there. The best tabouli, and the best
souvlaki-in-pita, I've ever had.

Upon sitting, the table is served with a basket of hot pita (with
seeds), plus butter and fresh onion chunks. The trick is to butter the
pita, fold it over a leaf of onion, and eat with relish (not the green
stuff).

The souvlaki is generous chunks of filet - really! - folded in pita with
all the usual things. My friend had lentil soup, then an entree portion
of veal and eggplant served with a large salad, and reported it to be
star class.

Service is outstanding. Ambience is strip mall blah. Value is excellent.
Our lunch for two was about $25 including coffee.

ALBORZ is in the shopping center on Del Mar Heights Road, just W of I-5.
Pretend you're going to Elijah's deli (but why I can't imagine). Upon
entering from DMHR, pass the Jack in the Box and immediately turn right
into an unlikely pre-parking lot. Voila! Or, as they say in Tehran, Voila!
