~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ FB611-2724 Develop, schedule and implement activities for building composite tools and assembly fixtures per specifications, using blueprints or sketches and be able to perform close tolerance work. Coordinate day-to-day activities of the fabrication and assembly of composite parts using epoxy resins, fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics, structural adhesives, rivets, threaded and blind fasteners. Supervise technicians through all phases of trimming of composite parts per blueprint tolerances, drilling of close tolerance holes, shaping of wood, nomex honeycomb, various foams and other materials and offers guidance and coaching to tooling personnel. Assist engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues. Interface with planning and quality assurance personnel in the generation of process flows. Analyze work orders and blueprints. Interface with production control and monitors usage and supply of all production materials and tooling. Formulate and recommend plans, policies, procedures and schedules. Evaluate work standards and performance levels. Examine defective equipment details. Interface with planning and quality assurance personnel in the generation of process flows. Inspect work in progress and finished products. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Interview prospective tooling employees. Responsible for training, qualifications and certification. Interface with outside vendors and sales representatives to stay current on new products and services.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Associate's degree (or equivalent in senior level experience) with five years experience emphasizing manufacturing techniques and process efficiencies. Ability to work extended hours. Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the functional area. Working knowledge of quality assurance and planning. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with staff, customers and suppliers. Capability to lead in a team environment. Ability to solve problems using organized thought processes. Requires complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job.
