Purchase assigned commodities (such as computer
hardware/software, electronic/avionic equipment, electronic
components, fabricated parts, raw materials, outside processing
and miscellaneous commodities) at fair and reasonable prices and
in support of technical and schedule requirements. Duties include
source development/selection; bid solicitation, evaluation and
negotiation; and purchase order issuance, documentation and date
entry. Comply with all applicable Company policies, Standard
Operating Procedures and FAR/DFARs requirements. Interface with
suppliers, internal customers and management. Expedite orders and
resolve shortages.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Requires Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related
field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in
addition to 5 years related purchasing experience. Must possess a
demonstrated ability to develop source lists; solicit quotations
and prepare written Requests for Quotations; evaluate bids;
negotiate pricing, terms and conditions; perform price/cost
analysis; prepare purchase order documentation; and expedite
orders. The successful candidate will also possess a demonstrated
knowledge of standard commercial and Government purchasing
practices; experience purchasing under MRP system; familiarity
with Excel and Word; and excellent oral and written communication
skills.
