The Committee said that on the basis of available evidence, it was
"unbelievable that 'Kar Sevaks' (to the extent of 90 per cent of total
occupants) armed with 'Trishuls', would allow to get themselves burnt
without a murmur by miscreant activity like a person entering S-6 coach
from outside and setting the coach on fire".

90 % passengers carrying trishuls on India's
civil trains? Yeh to ghajab ho gya bhaiya.

Ab hamari shanti aur harmony ka kya hoga?
Kya yeh trishul desh ki ekta aur akhandta kee
raksha kar payen?

How was it possible to find out? Did they asked that fantic armed
muslim mob? Even if Trishuls were being carried, it is more of a
symbol, it is NOT a usuable weapon.

To the Commiteee's argument, Isnt it possible that Mob was heavily
pelting stones, so passengers were hiding in coach even if they had
trishuls ? Once they were in the coach, it was easy for Mob to set them
on fire.

Overview of major terrorist attacks

ISLAMABAD, Oct 1: A bomb blast which killed at least 30 people at an
imambargah on Friday is the latest in a wave of killings in Pakistan,
plagued by sectarian violence and attacks on Western and official targets.

Here is a chronology of significant attacks in Pakistan this year.

January 15: Grenades are hurled at a Bible Society library in Karachi and a
car bomb explodes 20 minutes later injuring 13 people, mainly police who
were drawn to the scene by the first explosion.

March 2: At least 48 people are killed and 150 hurt in Quetta after a
suicide bomber blows himself up during an Ashura procession and gunmen open
fire on the procession.

March 15: Police narrowly prevent a huge car bomb exploding outside the US
consulate in Karachi, when they find around 650 litres of chemical
explosives, a timer and two detonators in a van left outside the building.

April 4: Five policemen and an attacker are killed when unidentified gunmen
open fire on a police station in Karachi, also hitting an adjacent mosque.

May 3: A car bomb kills three Chinese engineers helping to build
multi-million dollar Gwadar port and injures 11 others including two
Pakistanis.

May 7: A suicide bombing during Friday prayers at a packed imambargah in
Karachi kills 23 people and wounds some 100.

May 26: Two successive bomb blasts outside the US consul general's home and
the Pakistan American Cultural Centre kill a police guard and injure 32
police and local journalists.

May 31: Twenty-two people are killed and nearly 40 injured after a suicide
bomber blows up an imambargah in Karachi during evening prayers. The attack
comes a day after the assassination of prominent Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai in
the same area. Two people are killed in riots over the mosque attack and the
Mufti Shamzai's assassination.

June 10: Gunmen open fire on a convoy carrying the corps commander Karachi,
killing seven soldiers, three policemen and a pedestrian but missing the
senior general.

July 30: A suicide car bomb attack targets Shaukat Aziz after he addresses
an election rally in Attock. He survives but his driver and eight others,
including the attacker, are killed. Around 30 other people, including seven
policemen, are injured. -AFP
