 | "Sure. -ism words are in general rather new."
P. Jonathan Gans -- Funky NYU Chemist -- Poaching Out Of Field -----------------------------------------------------------------
Hilarious!
Gans The Ignorant Strikes Again!
And then we have:
Baptism [14th Century]
Chrism [before the 12th Century]
Judaism [14th Century]
Pietism [1697]
Presbyterianism [circa 1641?] Someone want to check that one in the OED?
Satanism [1565]
Diabolism [1614]
One could go on...and on... ------------------------------------------
Gans simply never THINKS before he POSTS -- then he CONCEPTUALIZES and WRITES very poorly.
Gans is a "shoot from the lip" poster. He's probably the same way in the classroom. Some of his students tell me he certainly CAN be.
Gans's EXCUSE is that he is always interrupted by phone calls and students coming by to see him -- so he's allegedly rushing to transmit his unvarnished gibberish ---- ASAP.
On SATURDAY?
Further, he has a VERY small VOCABULARY ---- as we see.
So, he makes gaffes -- such as this one.
But It's ---- GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.
Watch the NYU Chemistry Professor Make A Fool Of Himself...Poaching FAR Beyond His Field Of Competence.
Great Fun!
Pratfalls Aplenty....
KAWHOMP!!!
KERSPLAT!!!
Enjoy!
