Concentration Camp Inmates (1950) caused controversy. Rassinier examined
what he considered to be representative accounts of the camps. He criticized
exaggerations and denounced authors, such as Eugen Kogon, who in L'Enfer
Organisé (1947) claimed that the Buchenwald prisoner government's main
objective was "...to keep a nucleus of prisoners against the S.S." Rassinier

The book created a scandal, and on November 2, 1950, was even attacked on
the floor of the French National Assembly.19 More because of the foreword by
Albert Paraz than for the content of the book, both Rassinier and Paraz were
sued for slander by various organizations. After a see-saw round of trials
and appeals, both Rassinier and Paraz were acquitted, and an expanded
edition of The Lie Of Ulysses was published in 1955, which sold well.
However, the uproar led to complaints from members of the SFIO, and on April
9, 1951, Rassinier was expelled from the party "in spite of the respect
which his person imposes", as the expulsion document noted. A rehabilitation
effort by Marceau Pivert was rejected.

Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act is Canada's shameful internet

They came one cold December day. Not fearless warriors but fearsome
hoardes hell-bent on destruction of the genocidal kind that leaves no
room for regeneration. That was one year ago in Gaza.

The attack shocked a complacent world into finally seeing Israel's
merciless ferocity against the Palestinians already hounded, herded
and imprisoned in compounds throughout their land, if not actually
driven out. More than sixty years of Western devotion to Israel's
security was blown wide open as truth shattered spin in three weeks of
carnage and devastation.

Dead bodies do not lie and neither do the maimed and the disfigured.
Thousands have been left to make sense of the horrors they saw and the
hollow aftermath to which they have been abandoned. Landscapes of
rubble as far as the eye can see are still testament to the homes once
standing in villages and towns, the homeless now huddled in tents
while they wait one year on for materials to re-build. Little food,
contaminated water, rationed fuel and electricity and the barest of
medical supplies are just more of many cruel and wanton deprivations
pushing Palestinian society to the limits of endurance.

This is Gaza: a population of 1.5 million people kept in formaldehyde
by Israel's crippling siege. It is a human catastrophe that has many
enablers. World leaders have shut their eyes to the crimes witnessed
and documented countless times over by human rights groups. World
media continuously sidesteps the truth and deliberately ignores
international efforts to highlight the humanitarian crisis. Together
they are complicit in Israel's dehumanisation of a people.

We are also complicit if we remain silent and do nothing. It is not
enough to know and empathise. Change can only come from people being
engaged - learning, thinking, communicating, and being prepared to
act.

Almost 2000 internationals have taken action. Some 200 are in Jordan
after a three-week trek through Europe in the Viva Palestina convoy of
trucks filled with humanitarian aid while another 300 joined them from
Greece, Turkey and Jordan; and then, there are the 1400 who have
landed in Egypt from all over the world for the scheduled Gaza Freedom
March on 31 December. Neither group has been given clearance to enter
Gaza. This is where the rest of us who were unable to join these brave
souls can bring some power to bear.

There simply is no time to waste. Letters, faxes, emails must be
written to governments, embassies and media outlets. Not one letter,
not one time, but a constant stream. We have to urge friends and
families to write as well.

We have to urge governments to put pressure on Egypt to open the Rafah
crossing and pressure on Israel to lift the siege. We have to hound
the media like they hound us when they sniff a story. And Gaza is a
story that needs to be told. The marchers and the convoy bringing aid
to a besieged Gaza are only a part of that story. The real story is
Israel's ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians from their homeland.

Israel must be held to account because it is the instigator of all
this misery. Israel has acted with impunity for far too long. It is a
bully in world affairs and our leaders and media are all shamefully
intimidated. Only people coming together collectively can change that
dynamic - and we must come together, before we too become craven
hostages to Israel's criminal enterprise.

Standing up for Palestinian human rights is not anti-Semitic because
the Palestinians are also a Semitic people. Nor is it anti-Israel, but
rather a protest against Israel's Zionist policies and practices
designed to permanently fragment and dissipate Palestinian society. So
brutal is its Zionist agenda and so contrary to Judaic teachings that
many Jews are already speaking out in shame at what is being done in
their name.

As decent and honourable citizens of the world, we too need to speak
out in shame at what we have allowed to occur for far too long.
Terrible crimes have been committed and some predict that even more
terrible ones are to come. The reality is that all along we have been
witnessing a slow genocide and we have allowed guilt, pragmatism and
self-interest to stand in the way of our common humanity. The world
needs to say "enough" and refuse to indulge Israel's Zionist leaders
and advocates whose free ride has taken them to the heady heights of
arrogance. That universal effort needs to begin before the bitter
winter freezes any kind of hope in Gaza and it needs to be sustained
for as long as it takes to free all of Palestine. Anything less, will
hasten a 21st century genocide.

Summary execution in southern West Bank
Hebron / PNN - During the killing of over 1,000 Palestinians in the Gaza
Strip and the demonstrations against them the occupation remains in the West
Bank. This week a family lost their father in Hebron.

Yasser Saqr Ismail Tameizi had his six year old son with him. They were
working on their land in Ithna Village, west of the city.

It was Tuesday morning and the 35 year old farmer's death served as a
violent reminder, commented the Al Haq Human Rights Organization, "that even
as Israel engages in horrific and illegal attacks against the Gaza Strip,
its oppressive occupation policies continue to undermine the lives of
Palestinians in the West Bank."

Tameizi had an Israeli-issued permit to reach his lands that the Wall had
divided him from. Two eyewitnesses were in an adjacent field grazing their
cattle and Tameizi and his six year old were 500 meters east of the Wall
which is incomplete in this area of Hebron. Instead of a 10 meter concrete
wall, it consists of barbed wire fencing that cuts through the village.

On 13 January at 11:00 am four Israeli soldiers entered Tameizi's land
through a gate in the Wall. They told the little boy to leave, which he did,
and one of the soldiers kicked the father. Tameizi made a move to defend
himself and his son and two of the soldiers knocked him to the ground and
tied his hands behind his back. He was held down on his back by two soldiers
sitting on his stomach while the others watched.

At noon an Israeli military jeep with four soldiers entered Tameizi's land.
After 15 minutes the man was thrown, blindfolded and still handcuffed, into
the back of the jeep.

The eyewitnesses report, "The jeep then moved toward the gate, with four
soldiers inside and the other four walking behind it."

At 1:30 an Armored Personnel Carrier, arrived and still on the side of the
Wall facing the Israeli boundaries it left after 10 minutes with the jeep
driving quickly to Tarqumiya Checkpoint.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reports that its Hebron branch office
received a phone call at approximately 3:00 pm in which Israeli soldiers
told them to pick up Tameizi who was still in their custody.

He was dead before reaching the hospital.

The 35 year old man had been shot and died of the bullet wound to his
stomach which exited through his lower back. The Red Crescent said it
indicates he was shot at point blank range most likely while sitting down by
someone above him aiming down.

Ramallah's Al Haq referred today to the severe violation of international
law, the Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, in addition to tenets of the Geneva Conventions
and United Nations resolutions, as a "summary execution."

objective was "...to keep a nucleus of prisoners against the S.S." Rassinier
asserts that this nucleus of prisoners were only looking out for themselves,
and further claims that the Communists were trying to save their own skins
after the war, saying that: "by taking by storm the bar of the witnesses and
with extreme shouting, they avoided the dock". He also describes his visits
to Dachau and Mauthausen, noting that in both places, he got contradictory
stories on how the gas chambers were supposed to have worked, and for the
first time expresses his doubts on the existence of gas chambers and a Nazi
policy of extermination.

The book created a scandal, and on November 2, 1950, was even attacked on
the floor of the French National Assembly.19 More because of the foreword by
Albert Paraz than for the content of the book, both Rassinier and Paraz were
sued for slander by various organizations. After a see-saw round of trials
and appeals, both Rassinier and Paraz were acquitted, and an expanded
edition of The Lie Of Ulysses was published in 1955, which sold well.
However, the uproar led to complaints from members of the SFIO, and on April
9, 1951, Rassinier was expelled from the party "in spite of the respect
which his person imposes", as the expulsion document noted. A rehabilitation
effort by Marceau Pivert was rejected.
