My name is Ron and I am one of the persons who helped get rec.ponds.moderated started a couple years ago. (as an alternative to this one). If your news provider does not carry it, just politely ask them to, and explain that this group is essentially dead. Your news provider may already carry the group, in which case you would just need to refresh your list. Rec.ponds.moderated is an excellent, on-topic pond group which welcomes anyone as long as they stay on-topic and are not abusive. I see that Roy must be active again, based on the responses I have seen posted here.. However, I never read anything he writes directly, because I have his _many_ names all killfiled. I won't get into the negative comments about why this group died. Let me stay positive and welcome you to try out r.p.m. If you are really interested in any aspect of ponding, try to locate the "rpm" group. Its also available through google. As a last resort, contact me, Ron Schompert, at rons515@localnet.com, and I will help you find another (often free) news provider, or help you with the google method (not the best way to read a newsgroup, however.)
