Despite the rapid increase in the use of herbal remedies, a
new study warns about the possible risk of these tonics for
patients on heart disease medication.

According to the study published in the Journal of the
American College of Cardiology, taking certain herbal
remedies can become troublesome in heart patients,
particularly the elderly, on medication.

Simultaneously Using ginkgo biloba, St. John's wort and
other widely used herbal supplements with heart drugs may
increase the potency of the prescription drugs or make them
less effective.

The combination may also contribute to serious heart rhythm
problems and bleeding, the study found. The risk is reported
to be higher among seniors as they suffer from underlying
diseases and use multiple medications.

"We can see the effect of some of these herb-drug
interactions - some of which can be life-threatening - on
tests for blood clotting, liver enzymes and, with some
medications, on electrocardiogram," said lead researcher
Arshad Jahangir of the Mayo Clinic.

Scientists, therefore, urged physicians to ask about the use
of alternative and complementary medicine in patients
seeking herbal remedies in order to prevent potential
interactions or side affects.

A government, of Israel, by Israel, and, for: Israel.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light:
for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. The light shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended it not. The light of the body is the eye:
if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee light. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
