I just listed a 4 jaw chuck on ebay with a 1-8 thread - because it's a metal
lathe chuck, it doesn't have "teeth" to grab wood - but it could be useful
for off center turning, and of course you can hold metal in it - I've made
nice aluminum stuff on a wood lathe (HSS tools and keep the speed fairly
low)
