I have a pair of Oneida Du Maurier silver plated candle sticks that
have a label saying that they have a protective coating on them to
prevent tarnishing and that you should not use silver polish on them.
The problem is now they have darkened and are nearly black in some
areas. I tried cleaning them with a soft damp cloth as directed but
it does no good. Oneida discontinued this type of holloware in 2004
so there's no help there. So as a last resort I tried silver cleaner
on them but it had no effect. Can anyone tell me how I can bring back
the original silver finish?

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

D.R.
