I have just sold two paintings and now I need to ship them. They are oil on wood, look about two hundred years old. Someone said wrap them in acid free paper (this person was not an authority on shipping old paintings) and then use bubble wrap. I want to use "large bubble" bubble wrap. I know how to carefully ship antiques, it's the old painting aspect I don't understand. It seems like wrapping a painting in any kind of paper would be possibly abrasive. Is it ok to just wrap them in the bubble wrap directly? Looking forward to reading your responses. Robert Other posts:
