If I eliminate 55 or higher 2-suiters from my "natural" bids and move them to the 2-level [ie 2D = diamonds plus higher, 2H = h+s or h +clubs, 2S = spades and clubs], ENSURING THAT THEY MEET minimum hand openings for a 1-bid [8+pts] - would they not then be considered natural? IE allowing them to be 2-suited without the second suit being defined. So, for example, I open 1S with 8+pts but it denies a 2-suiter [55 or longer], I would assume that the 2S bid could naturally show a 5=1=2=5 hand. For the same reason, I deny 55 in the majors with my 1H or 1S opening, then 2H could naturally show 8+pts and 5h + 5other. It seems to me that once I keep my 2-level bid UP TO STRENGTH for a 1- level bid, it should be considered an extension of the 1-level bids. Kurt Other posts:
